HR Advisor - Fixed Term 12 Month Contract

We are looking for a highly passionate HR Advisor who is looking to gain hands on experience to step up to Senior HR Advisor level.

We are looking for an individual who can act as the number two to the Head of HR at Circle to cover maternity on a 12-month fixed term contract.

Job Title: HR Advisor Maternity Cover (12 Months FTC)

Location: Wales, Cardiff (Locally Based)

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 with retention bonus (30 - 35 hours a week pro rata)

Contract type: Fixed Term start date circa March/April 2021

You must have experience in the B2B commercial services sector.

What you'll do

  • Conducting job evaluations   
  • Negotiating terms and conditions of employment if required in partnership with the internal recruitment lead  
  • Providing advice and playing a major role in work reviews and change processes   
  • Updating and maintaining the HR Information System data   
  • Write and present information briefings on a range of HR related topics  
  • Advising on staff development   
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices  
  • Consulting on issues related to workplace relations and performance management   
  • Providing advice and assistance on policies, procedures, legislation, and enterprise agreements 
  • Providing advice and playing a major role in work reviews and change processes  
  • Using HR information systems to access, input and compile data   
  • Identifying development needs   
  • Suggesting new HR technology solutions to improve day-to-day operations (e.g. ATS and HRIS software)   
  • Managing employee relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations   
  • Researching and recommending performance evaluation methods (e.g. employee appraisal systems)   
  • Monitoring, reviewing and updating all HR policies and ensuring these are in line with current legislation   
  • Supporting and sometimes leading the Head of HR with various capability investigations, including grievance and disciplinary   
  • Driving the business performance in relation to the organisation’s objectives   
  • Assisting in organising employer branding initiatives   
  • Acting as the point of contact for managers, employees and other HR team members 
  • Monthly report to head of HR on HR activity and social values projects in partnership with the recruitment lead

What are we looking for

  • Working in a fast-paced commercial services environment
  • Creating and Implementing HR policy
  • Working with managers on HR issues and advising of correct action
  • Running External Workshops
  • CIPD qualifications or working towards
  • Organisational and administrative skills
  • Proven work experience as an HR advisor, HR consultant or similar role
  • Ability to advise and work with senior members of staff
  • Hands-on experience with IT programmes and HR systems
  • Knowledge of employment legislation
  • Personable with strong communication and relationship building capabilities across all levels of the business
  • Ability to design clear and fair company policies
  • Driven and determined
  • Practical and logical; able to solve problems quickly
