Jennifer Griffiths named Best HR Professional in IT at Wales HR Awards

Head of HR, Jennifer Griffiths, has been named Best HR Professional in IT & Technology for her role at Cardiff-based IT solutions provider Circle IT at the 2018 Wales HR Awards, which recognises and celebrates the achievements of HR professionals across Wales. The Circle IT HR Team were delighted to also be shortlisted as Finalists in the HR Team of the Year category.

Launched in 2017, the Awards ceremony is the flagship event of the Wales HR Network, a leading professional thought sharing and networking group created and run by Cardiff-based commercial law firm Darwin Gray and Acorn, Wales’ leading recruitment specialist.

Hosted by the BBC’s Sian Lloyd, the Awards recognise the best HR professionals at all levels, from apprentices to directors, and organisations as a whole across various industry sectors in Wales – showcasing the commitment, hard work and achievements of individuals and teams within the HR profession over the last 12 months.

Jennifer Griffiths said:

It is a massive honour to win this award and be recognised for the work I am passionate about. Thank you to my team and to Circle IT, I love working in such a great company with great people. The opportunities I have had to develop my career here have been amazing and I look forward in continuing to drive value through the HR function and championing the people agenda. Thanks to the organisers of the awards and all the people who made it a great night.

Darwin Gray’s Head of Employment Law and HR Fflur Jones said:

“Jennifer is undoubtedly a worthy winner in this category – during her time at Circle IT she has demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of best practice HR, whilst recognising the importance of balancing the needs of the business with the needs of employees.

“We can all testify that HR is a not an easy profession and isn’t known for being glamorous. However, it is a profession full of dedicated individuals and teams who work hard and quietly achieve great things. It has been wonderful to bring some acknowledgement and celebration into HR, shining a spotlight on the hard work and dedication that often goes on behind the scenes.”

Director of Operations for South Wales at Acorn Recruitment Maria Larcombe added:

“Jennifer has demonstrated strategic insight and a business focused approach to key HR metrics; reducing recruitment costs, cutting absence levels and improving employee retention. It’s been absolutely fantastic to see so many excellent HR professionals like Jennifer come together to showcase the talent within HR in Wales.

“Once again, it’s been a pleasure to host the awards alongside Darwin Gray as partners of the Wales HR Network and I’m looking forward to seeing what our winners and the profession as awhole can achieve in Wales over the coming months.”
