The National Cyber Security Centre is urging all organisations to improve cyber-security measures and ensure that there are no vulnerabilities in their networks.
This is due to the risks that have been predicted following Russia’s activity in Ukraine.
Whilst the NCSC is not aware of any specific threats to UK organisations in relation to these events, there has been a historical pattern of cyber-attacks on Ukraine with international consequences. Therefore, whilst nothing is certain, it is important to follow advice to bolster cyber-security measures to mitigate risk.
There are a number of ways that you can take action:
- Implement multi-factor authentication (find out more here)
- Review your back-ups and disaster recovery plan
- Vulnerability management (ensuring that any vulnerabilities are patched – all Managed Support customers can get in touch with any queries)
- Cyber Essentials certification (click here for the recent updates to this certification)
